Thalia Tech ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use Glow Era (the "App"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data.

By using Glow Era, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.


1. Who We Are

2. Information We Collect

We only collect the data we need to operate Glow Era. Here is a complete list of what we collect and why.

2.1 Account information

When you sign in, we receive:

  • A unique account ID generated by our backend.
  • If you sign in with Apple: a private relay email (if you choose Apple's "Hide My Email") or your real email if you allow it. Apple may also share your name on first sign-in.
  • If you sign in with Google: your email address and name.
  • If you continue as Guest (anonymous): no personal identifier is collected — only a randomly generated account ID.

2.2 Profile data you provide

  • Your chosen nickname.
  • The era you selected (e.g., Boss Babe, Healing, Goddess) and any secondary era.
  • App-level preferences: theme, language, notification times, haptic settings.

2.3 Content you create

  • Journal entries, manifestations, and vision boards you write.
  • Worry-box messages (stored locally on your device by default).
  • Ritual completions, challenge progress, and badges earned.
  • Saved affirmations, mood selections, and streak history.

This content is yours. We store it only to provide the App's features to you.

2.4 Subscription data

If you purchase Glow Era Premium:

  • Your purchase receipt is processed by Apple or Google and shared with RevenueCat, our subscription-management provider, to verify and renew your subscription.
  • We do not see or store your payment-card details. All payment processing is handled by Apple or Google.

2.5 Device and technical data

To diagnose problems and improve the App, we may automatically collect:

  • Device model, operating-system version, and locale.
  • App version and crash reports (if you experience a crash).
  • Approximate IP-derived region (not stored long-term and not linked to your identity beyond your session).

We do not track your precise location, your browsing on other apps or websites, or use third-party advertising identifiers.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to:

  1. Provide the App's features — sign you in, sync your journal entries, deliver era-personalized content, run challenges, and award badges.
  2. Process subscriptions — verify Premium purchases through Apple/Google and RevenueCat.
  3. Send notifications you have enabled — daily affirmations, ritual reminders, streak alerts.
  4. Diagnose problems — investigate crashes and bugs so we can fix them.
  5. Communicate with you — respond to support emails and important service messages (such as policy changes).
  6. Protect the App and our users — detect abuse, fraud, and security issues.

We do not sell your data, rent it, or use it for third-party advertising.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/UK Users)

If you are in the EU, UK, or another region governed by similar laws, our legal bases for processing your data are:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the App and your subscription.
  • Consent — for notifications and any optional features you enable. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, prevent fraud, and improve our services.
  • Legal obligations — when required by law.

5. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored on our self-hosted Appwrite backend, operated by Thalia Tech on Hetzner Cloud servers located in Germany (EU).

When you sign in with Apple or Google, those companies may process limited authentication data on their own servers. RevenueCat processes subscription data on its servers in the United States and other regions.

6. International Data Transfers

If you use Glow Era from outside the EU, your data may still be stored on our servers in Germany. By using the App, you consent to this transfer. We use providers whose standard contractual clauses comply with applicable data-protection laws.

7. Data Retention

  • Active accounts. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
  • Deleted accounts. When you delete your account from Profile → Delete Account, your profile and content are permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Backups are rotated and overwritten within 90 days.
  • Subscription records. We may retain limited records of past purchases for legal, accounting, and tax purposes as required by law.
  • Support emails. We keep support correspondence for up to 24 months after your last interaction.

8. Sharing Your Data

We share data only with the following service providers, and only as needed to run the App:

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or for any other commercial purpose.

We may disclose data when legally required (for example, in response to a valid subpoena or court order) or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Thalia Tech, our users, or the public.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your country, you have the following rights:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account, or email us to request manual deletion.
  • Portability — request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Objection / Restriction — ask us to stop or limit certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent — disable notifications, theme, language, or other consent-based features any time in the App.

If you believe we are mishandling your data, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

California residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to:

  • Know what categories of personal information we collect and the purposes for collecting it.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA.

10. Children's Privacy

Glow Era is intended for users 16 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please email us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • All traffic between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS.
  • Account permissions in our database limit access so that only you can read or modify your own content.
  • Our backend infrastructure follows industry-standard security practices.

No service can guarantee absolute security. If we discover a breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

12. Notifications

You can enable or disable push notifications at any time in Profile → Notifications, or in your device's system settings. We use notifications only for features you have opted into (daily affirmations, ritual reminders, streak alerts, etc.).

13. Third-Party Links

The App may link to external pages (such as our website, this Privacy Policy, or the Terms of Service). Once you leave the App, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the App or by another reasonable means before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
